We are partnering with the market leading produce service provider / manufacturer and distributor, in their search for an Operations Director. This pivotal role is based in the heart of the operation in Essex. This role is critical in leading the operational and warehousing strategy, supporting the transformational growth, and providing clear leadership to the operational team. You will be an integral part of the Site Exec Team.

As a company, our client is an independent, family run business and market leader of their sector. They are continuing to thrive in the current market, acquiring new customers and building their brand awareness. They are passionate about delivering the best quality and have won many awards including “Supplier of the Year”.

Experience required:

• Proven experience leading an operational team, including production and warehousing, in a Food Manufacturing/Produce Business.
• Fully conversant with continuous improvement processes in production and warehousing.
• In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations with the ability to ensure compliance
• Experience in a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment is preferred.

Key responsibilities of the Operations Director:

• Creating and delivering a robust operational strategy to drive sustainable growth and operational excellence.
• Managing team operations and activities across site ensuring it meets target operating models of best practice.
• Leading the operations team in managing health and safety in all operational areas.
• Monitor performance and taking a proactive approach to improve underperforming areas.
• Communicating and interacting effectively with clients, vendors, suppliers and customers.

They are offering the successful candidate circa £90k per annum.
