Industry Leader Interview – USA Market and Challenges in UK

We like to get a good handle on all things food and drink related and what better way to showcase this than to have an Industry Leaders point of view.

Our Industry Leader, David Betts-Gray has carried out Chief Operating Officer and Divisional MD roles within the UK as well as having an International Portfolio. 

He has been in the Food and Drink industry for over 30 years, and of those 30 years he has been carrying out Interim and Consultancy roles for the last 13.  Although discussing predominantly about the USA in this video, David has cover roles and helped companies all over the world; from Australia to the Netherlands to South Africa.

David has provided support for large multi-million pound companies, as well as having  strong multisite experience behind him as well. He is well-versed with capital projects and also turning sites around going through difficult scenarios.

He’s covered both corporate and private sector as well as having strong experience with branded, own label, B2B and also food service sectors.

When he goes into any business his aim is to enable the business to continuously grow, improve and develop whilst delivering impeccable customer service, market share gain, product quality and stake holder return as well as maximising sustainability.

In the video David talks about the differences within manufacturing processes within the UK, USA and also the culture differences between the different US states. He also discusses the polarisation within the UK market and UK manufacturing aside from Brexit. In the video he also talks of the importance of understanding the clients requirements and resonating to those needs.
