Technical Manager – Ingredients

We are working exclusively with a family owned, growing ingredients manufacturer, who are in the search for a Technical Manager to join their team in Suffolk. They are growing at a significant rate, offering you lots of opportunities to grow with the company. The Technical Manager they are searching for will be responsible for the food safety, legality and quality of the business from raw material through to the customer.

The person that will be successful as the Technical Manager will be:

• A good leader of people
• Dynamic and have a strong presence
• A confident and clear character
• Pragmatic and have an understanding of the wider impact of technical decisions
• Able to get hands on and stuck in

As a company, starting as a small family business they have seen continual year on year growth for the past 3 years, which has seen them expand to a dual location operation. This growth is not set to slow down any time soon which will broaden the remit of your role further! One of the keys to their success has been striving to meet and exceed demands of their trade partners and consumers with fantastic product quality, expert knowledge and best practice techniques.

The experience you will need will as the Technical Manager is:

• A strong background in food manufacturing
• Have an established technical background, working up through the technical function
• Experienced in leading a technical team, operated as a Quality Manager or above
• Good micro knowledge would be advantageous

Some of the key responsibilities of the Technical Manager:

• Ensuring the business is audit ready at all times, keeping on top of food production legislation and customer requirement changes
• Manage a team of QAs, a Spec Writer and a Technical Assistant to ensure day to day food quality and safety is adhered to
• Work closely with the factory production teams and NPD teams, ensuring quality systems and standards are being adhered to and closely maintained
• Ensure the correct implementation of HACCP and the quality management systems
• Also working with the NPD team on various projects

They are offering the successful candidate Circa £65,000 per annum.
