Production Team Leader – Fresh Produce

Salary: Up to £38,000

Location: Cambridgeshire

Benefits: Plus Bonus

This role is Permanent Posted on: 12/06/2026

Develop the Department and Leave Your Mark On A Culture-Led Operation.

You’ve led teams on the shop floor, kept production moving, and know how to get the best out of people in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Now you’re looking for a role where you can have more influence, develop your leadership skills, and make a visible impact on how a department performs.

We are working exclusively with a privately owned, people-focused fresh produce business in the search for two Production Team Leaders to nurture shift performance and leadership across their high-volume wash and pack operation in Cambridgeshire.

As Production Team Leader, you’ll lead production operatives and agency labour across the shift, ensuring people are deployed effectively and operational priorities are delivered.

You’ll monitor line performance, productivity, quality standards and operational KPIs, taking action where needed to keep the department running efficiently.

You’ll also support labour planning, help manage agency requirements, coach and develop team members, and work with the wider production and wash teams to maintain smooth operational flow.

This isn’t a corporate machine. You’ll be joining a people-focused business at an important stage in its development. Your role in all of this will focus on driving continuous improvement initiatives within both the team and operation, as well as  ensuring their values are visible across the factory.

This is not a role where you’ll sit in an office and manage from a distance. You’ll be visible, close to the team, and involved in the operational detail. With a mix of new and seasoned members of the team, you’ll build relationships and help to bring them all to the next level.

The business is stable, profitable and ambitious, with multiple tenders in play and potential UK-wide expansion meaning genuine opportunities for you, enabling you to progress your career should you want it.

The Operation at a Glance

This private, family owned and growing food manufacturer operates a complex, 24/7 operation in their fresh produce facility processing over 80,000 tonnes of produce annually. With 2 wash lines and 12 packing lines for both organic and conventional SKUs.

The site turns over £65m annually and supplies major UK retailers with the finest quality produce. The business has a people-focused ethos and an appetite for innovation and growth.

With the future expansion on the horizon, this is a business offering stability with clear ambition.

What You’ll Bring

To succeed, you’ll have experience leading teams within food manufacturing, FMCG or another fast-paced production environment.

You may already be working as a Team Leader, Production Supervisor, Shift Coordinator, Line Leader or similar. What matters most is that you can lead people confidently, communicate clearly, and keep performance moving in a busy operational setting.

You’ll bring a hands-on leadership style, strong organisational skills and the ability to influence experienced teams.

You’ll be comfortable working with production targets, KPIs and performance data, and you’ll have the confidence to identify opportunities to improve ways of working.

Most importantly, you’ll be positive, resilient and collaborative. You’ll enjoy developing people, solving problems and being part of a business where you can make a genuine difference.
